Overview of Kyushu

The gateway to Japan and Asia, Kyushu is a haven for hot springs, great food and dynamic nature.

Located on the southwest end of the Japanese archipelago, Kyushu consists of the mainland and a chain of small, sub-tropical islands. It is made up of seven prefectures: Fukuoka, Saga, Nagasaki, Oita, Kumamoto, Miyazaki and Kagoshima.

Knowledge of Japanese Sake and Sake Brewery

From the 17th century, sake made in cold weather (kanzukuri) made in winter when yeast works effectively was mainstream. Even now, taking advantage of the natural environment in this cold period, around November to February, sake is actively being produced at small and medium-sized sake brewery.
