The highest mountain in Iki is called "Takenotsuji". Our factory is located at it's base From the past the land was called "Takezumi". It is said that spring water used to sprout from it. So in the first generation it was named "Takiizumi" waterfall fountain. In 1955, in order to emphasize "the place of origin of Mugishi shochu, Iki" and continue development of the local community, the name became "Mugi Shochu "Iki".
