The 4 routes presented here were established in cooperation with each prefecture and business community to encourage visitors to enjoy Kyushu, Okinawa, and Yamaguchi by bicycle.
Majestic mountains, glittering oceans, historical and cultural sites, hot springs, Instagrammable locations, and delectable cuisine you can savor along the route are also introduced here.

This route takes you on an extra-long circuit around the prefectures of Kyushu and Yamaguchi Prefecture. If you catch a flight to Okinawa during your ride, you can get the full, nine-prefecture experience that includes Kyushu, Okinawa and Yamaguchi. The ocean has a different feel depending on whether you are looking at from Kyushu, Okinawa or Yamaguchi. Use this ride to fully explore the distinctively different sightseeing spots, specialties and other charms within each prefecture.

This route lets you experience all of the charm of the Kitakyushu/Keichiku area, including serene, easygoing country roads, the exhilarating sense of “riding on the ocean” across the Kitakyushu Airport connecting bridge and the vibe of Mojiko Retro. You can also include it as part of a long ride to Oita and Yamaguchi.

Trans-Kyushu North Route
From Nobeoka City, you will ride along the river to Hinokage Town, followed by Takachiho, home to myths and legends, and then to Gokase, where you will find an abundance of nature, including valleys and waterfalls. The route takes you to Heitate Shrine, situated in Kyushu’s “navel,” across Tsujun Bridge, Japan's largest arch-type aqueduct, and through famous sites in Kumamoto on the way to Mashiki Town.

This course is filled with historical spots, including the Yanagawa riverside district, Miike Port, and the Miike Coal Mine Miyahara Pit. At the Chikugo River Lift Bridge, you will push your bike across. Once in Saga, the famous sites include the world heritage Mietsu Naval Dock Ruins and Hizen hama-shuku. You can also enjoy the nature of the Saga plains and the Mt. Tara orange road along the coast.

Ariake Sea Circuit Route
This route circumnavigates the Ariake Sea. On the Shimabara Peninsula, you can enjoy magnificent views of Mt. Heisei-shinzan as you head toward Amakusa in Kumamoto Prefecture. You will ride along the coast, overlooking the Ariake Sea on your left, and then cross the Five Bridges of Amakusa going north. Make sure to enjoy the scenery of Mt. Kinpo, which overlooks Kumamoto City.
