This route circumnavigates the Ariake Sea. On the Shimabara Peninsula, you can enjoy magnificent views of Mt. Heisei-shinzan as you head toward Amakusa in Kumamoto Prefecture. You will ride along the coast, overlooking the Ariake Sea on your left, and then cross the Five Bridges of Amakusa going north. Make sure to enjoy the scenery of Mt. Kinpo, which overlooks Kumamoto City.
