“Volcanos” symbolize Kyushu and various sea currents make up the tapestry of seas that ring the island. These volcanos provide the soil with bountiful minerals which nurture fresh vegetables, and the seas with their overlapping currents ensure the firm flesh of the treasures of the sea. Animals grow unconstrained in the all year round temperate climate. The “topography”, the “soil”, the “sea” and the “temperature”, “rain” and “wind” with their individual bounties are used to the full in the production of crops, and they all come together to make each area a major producer. The existence of the blessing of a prosperous land is the reason behind Kyushu’s foods being “Oishii.”
